Jury Tampering and Double Jeapardy

If I bribe a jury and am acquitted of a crime…

But it is later proved that someone paid off the jury…

What then happens to the verdict? Can I be put back on trial even though I have been acquitted?

I assume the answer is yes, but I am just checking.

the same thing happened years ago only the judge was the buyee. the defendent was retried. double jeopardy was not an issue, went the SC, because there was no original jeopardy.

Ditto in Chicago. Mob hitman got off by bribing the judge. (Harry Aleman was a defendant’s name, IIRK) He was retried and convicted, which was allowed, because (as HH said) there was no original jeopardy.

If I Recall Korrectly, you know.
