About 1/4 of a molar is loose in my mouth because of an errant cherry pit. I’m not happy about it. I was having a pretty good day.
Cherry pit?
That sucks! I got hit in the teeth when I was a kid with a zipper…some idiot was twirling her jacket around at recess and she whacked me in the mouth, and a bit of my front tooth got nicked. Luckily, that was one of my baby teeth, so I lost it a year or so later. Chips are annoying, you keep wanting to run your tongue over the the chipped part. Drives you crazy. It sucks that you chipped off so much, (God, that must have hurt like hell) but at least it wasn’t a highly visible tooth…
[sub]Parental Advisory: A cherry pit is the same thing as a cherry seed. Bing cherries, IIRC, and a couple other varieties have seeds/pits, whatever you call them[/sub].
Ah… I see now, thanks Orange.
The only “plus” side is that it has been a problem tooth for a couple of decades now. It is mostly filling at this point, so it really doesn’t hurt (except when I suck on it). It’s sore, but that’s all. Chewing on the other side of the mouth is really tricky. The broken part is still there, it goes down below the gum line. Since the pain isn’t bad, I didn’t call the dentist. Hopefully they’ll get me in pronto when I call Monday.
This morning, I was chewing some cherries on the left side of my mouth and hit another pit! I’m never buying dried cherries from that company again.
When will people learn that fresh fruit is dangerous?
These were dried cherries. I should have noted that. Sorry. My uncle was killed by a fresh cherry ::sob:: he didn’t even see it coming! That poor dumb bastard took a cherry for me! Why, god, why?!
