Cinematic violence and gore have reached new levels. Tarantino has really outdone himself this time.
Loved it!

Saw it. Liked it, but had some issues with it.
The wide wide screen exterior shots were beautiful, but you rather lost the benefit once all the action entered the interior. Also, as it was shot on film, not digital, I couldn’t help but notice how the oncoming blizzard kept changing from heavy show to clear skies as there was no CGI to fill in the good weather filming days and maintain that sense of foreboding of the oncoming storm. And with all the trouble they had stringing lines to the barn and the outhouse, they should have moved more scenes there to move the action about and give a reason to put the lines out in the first place.
If Minnie wouldn’t have let a Mexican in charge of the haberdashery, which is what clued the Major in on Bob’s duplicitous nature, why didn’t she kick Bob out when he first entered?
The Major’s story of how he killed the General’s son was way overdone. Yeah, it’s Tarantino, but it really kicked me out of the movie.
Killing everyone inside to prepare the ambush was bad form, as there would be blood stains and bullet holes everywhere. Particularly the door. as the damn latch was shot off. I just couldn’t find this part believable. I would rather have seen them all taken outside and shot.
On a more positive note,
I was very surprised to see Kurt Russell’s character die off. I figured he’d be in it to the end. That left me uncertain who would be standing in in his place. I figured the Major would be likely, but I also felt the Sheriff may have stepped up, or the baddies would take over and then where would it go? An exciting moment.
I’ve always loved Tarantino’s dialog. The characters were great and I loved watching their interaction.
Again, holy shit the scenery was beautiful.
