Just in case you haven't had enough bagpipes in your life lately

Duelling pipers

(plus a girl)

Nice segue from “Jingle Bells” to “Scotland the Brave” at the end.

Don’t know if it’s still the case, but in the 19th century, the Sheikh of Morocco had an army pipe band. Because he had a trusted army instructor and general named Harry Maclean, who was an avid piper. The Sultan’s pipe band wore Maclean of Drimnin tartan kilts in his honor.

I knew someone was going to post a video of The Badpiper. Awesome dude. Here he is doing “Thunderstruck” in duet with a screaming electric guitar, on “Australia’s Got Talent”.

Tu-Bardh Wilson with Clanadonia

I hesitate to raise this here among such love for the instrument, but…

Q: When do a set of bagpipes go out of tune?

A: Whenever someone plays them.

So many good clips.

Yep. Please keep them coming! [River_Hippie, I’m looking at you]

Going Home

Flowers Of The Forest.

That was cool!

Paraphrasing an old banjo joke…

Q: What is perfect pitch?

A: When you pitch bagpipes into a dumpster and they land on an accordion.

Thanks for posting that. Didn’t work for me.

I had an aunt and uncle that were really in to genealogy. On my father’s side we came from Scotland to Canada, northeastern, and my family living in Ohio represented the southern branch.

The city I live closest to now had a Highland Games every summer. The first time I heard live pipes and drums…it really connected. Is that in my head or in my soul?
