So what size flea collar does your father wear?
Columbo (the Night Stalker)
C: Aah, sorry sir, just one more thing… I wonder if you’d mind signing this crucifix. It’s just that my wife-- she loves vampires, sir; always has…"
V: [Shrinks away in fear] Hsssssss!!
Huh. But Sojurner Truth did spend a lot of time near my town. You know, I always heard Cab was from my home, but I never checked it till now. Wonder if he lived here for a while or something.
Very possible, musicians did sort of roam around=)
I just remember hearing him say he was from Rochester in an interview done sometime back in the late 70s.
Did you know he said he once did an album of Minnie the Moocher covers in different styles of music, including a disco version<boggle> I would love to track it down, but it isnt listed in any discography=( though he did have a wicked sense of humor and he could have been jacking the interviewer around…
He is eternally in my album rotation! I also bought a DVD of Betty Boop cartoons just for the ones he is in [king of the mountain and st james infirmary specifically=)]
I hated Colombo. If the villians would have shut up and asked for a lawyer, they would all walk. Colombo’s “evidence” wouldn’t hold up at trial.
Give me Jim Rockford any day.
For the most part, the murderer was too cocky and egotistical; he/she always felt they had committed the perfect crime and they were so much smarter than this little putz in a raincoat. Requesting a lawyer would have (in their mind) cast suspicion on them. And anyway, it’s not real life, it’s a freakin’ TV show! Lighten up! :smack: Moving right along… [ul]
[li]Another unusual one I just remembered: The episode where there was no murder (at least not right away). The alleged victim (Deidre Hall) was actually on a trip to Europe. She was eventually murdered, leading to another favorite “gotcha”–she wore a beeper on her wrist, and Columbo called the number and it beeped–from behind a wall where the murderer had stashed her body.[/li][/ul]
