Just sell me the goddamned Wii and stop trying to create artificial demand!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m in sales and once he knew I had it I would have said, “We only have one left, and I guess you’re the lucky one who gets it!” Thereafter, “I’m sorry, we don’t have any of those available.”

There was a time when I was down on the 360 and looking forward to the PS3. But then, when I worked at EA over the summer, I got to play with 360s and PS3s and Wiis (oh my!). The 360 has solid performance and very user friendly online capability. The Wii has a highly innovative and well designed controller. The PS3 has too many features jammed haphazardly together and poorly integrated. It’s supposedly much more powerful than the 360, but in practice I didn’t see a significant improvement between, say, the two versions of Fight Night 3 or Need for Speed Carbon. I found this interesting article dated in June, about 5 months before the PS3 launch. It’s fairly technical, so let me make this analogy: If the Cell processor is like a Ferrari engine, then the rest of the PS3 is like a Honda Civic. Yeah, the processor is running at high speeds, but the rest of the system just isn’t set up properly to make use of that speed. Now, it’s possible that this is faulty information, and it’s also possible that it was true in June but it was fixed for the launch, but I don’t think so. I’ve posted about the PS3 before over here; you’ll note that the date is two days prior to the PS3 launch date.

Baloney. I’ve played with the PS3 several times already (most notably Motorstorm), and make enough money that I could easily buy one of the (easily-available) 60GB units if I really want to, yet I still think it’s a grossly overpriced piece of gear. I mean, sure, it looks really nice, but when it comes down to actually playing the games, there’s nothing on the PS3 that I can’t already do with the XBox 360 (which is also somewhat overpriced IMO) or a PS2. But then, my self-worth isn’t measured by expensive shiny new boxes of electronic gear…

Best Buy did not have it on Sunday, by the way.

Eh. Maybe in a month.

Actually, they did. You had to look at their weekly ad online.

Our store got a stack of Wiis in too.

They had PS3s, but no Wiis on the truck. Only two people showed up for the PS3.
