Just some old pocket change

One penny: 1970 US coin of the realm.

Nothing in my pockets, but wallet had a 1999 10 cent coin. Euro coins are all pretty new so checking their age is boring but seeing what country they are from can be fun.

Not technically in my pocket as I just swapped jeans, but it was this afternoon. A 1995 Australian $1 coin. I imagine I have a lot of older coins in my shrapnel jar, but I ain’t searching through that, which goes against the spirit of the OP anyway.

Handy if you want to buy some spice.

I have an Assyrian quarter marked 744 B.C.E.

1999 French 20 cents coin. I’m surprised because euros weren’t yet circulating at the time.

Also, a 50 cents Portuguese coin has no date at all.

fresh off the mint?

Exactly the same!

Last week my daughter discovered a 1945 cent (US) in her change.

As pocket change? :dubious:

Yes. I’m ancient.
I also have a 1967 US dime I just pulled out of my pocket.

Nothing in my pockets but the small batch of change in my desk drawer (where my pocket change winds up) has a 1961 penny in it.

I currently have a 1965 Quarter. Wow, that’s older than me.

Surely, you can’t be a-syrrius…

I have no change in my pockets. If I have any coins at the end of the day, I put them in a piggy bank. When that’s full, I bring it to the coin counting machine in the supermarket, and donate the contents to a charity.

Many years ago, I found an Indian head penny in my change. I thought that was pretty cool – still have it around somewhere.

lounging today, no pockets, yesterday however, when I emptied my pockets at the end of the day, I found I had €.01. Kind of a neat addition to my collection of pfennigs, half sheckels and assorted Asian coinage I’ve collected over the years.
