I’ve just watched this film, and was extremely impressed. Firstly, Robert Pattinson can really act, who’d have thought? Secondly, that ending - to pull that off without mawkishness is amazing, I’ll have to watch again to see how it works. I was too busy with my jaw on the floor and tears in my eyes first time. Anyone else seen it?
Yes, I loved it. Yes, I wept at the end. It amazed me how the whole movie takes place almost nine years in the past and I didn’t have a clue until the end. It wasn’t until the teacher stepped away from the blackboard and I saw the date that I realized what was about to happen. Cue the waterworks!
Exactly the same for me, at exactly that moment. Such a well written film.
