Hi,
I have instructions for a yarn necklace by Tahki Stacy Charles.
the instructions say k1 - f/b Knit 1 front and back (inc) ok, - knit next st. then kni it tbl.
Cast on 3
first row:
K1-f/b, yo k2 - 5 sts - I don’t undertand. I knit through the fron and back loop, so I have 2 sts on right needle and 2 on left… I knit the next st. and then have 3 on the right and one on the left. How do I then yo, and knit 2 when I only have one left on the left? I am going crazy.
If anyone can HELP i would be sooooo appreciative

Ok…
So you have 3 stitches total that you cast on.
Stitch 1, knit front and back = 2 stitches on right needle
YO, wrap the yarn around the right needle = 3 stitches on right needle
Knit the next stitch = 4 stitches on right needle
Knit the last stitch = 5 stitches on right needle
You created one extra stitch with the K f/b, and one stitch with the yarn over. For a total of 5 stitches.
It seems like, from what you wrote, that you are knitting the 2 second stitch before doing your yarn over.
Yes, it’s knit the first stitch in the front and back, not the first stitch* then* front and back.
Tricky, reminds me of a call I made to my mother, wailing over a pattern we’d both crocheted many times several years earlier, I’d chained and joined and chained and joined and now the pattern said “two loops” - Where were the two loops? What the hell was I supposed to do with them when I found them?
Mum told me to look at the work I’d done, what did it look like? A figure 8? Perfect. What shapes would you use to make a figure 8?
Uh… two loops.:smack:
