I’m feeling ignorant. What are ROPS, fast or otherwise, please? Should I hate them too?
For all the civilians, ROP = Rate Of Penetration, basically it’s the speed at which you are drilling an oil well.
When I got out here (Kern county, CA) they were moving me from well to well, they kept telling me “we’re not sure you can handle top hole, it can get pretty crazy”, in 3 months I have not yet seen 250 fph, “crazy tophole” is 160 - 225, I tell everyone “do not come to the GOM”.
