First, I loathe pretty much anyone that Trump endorses. However, this is bad no matter what my feelings are.
Apparently, she was in a vehicle that struck/was struck by another in a head-on collision last night. One death, and she was hurt pretty bad. Story says small intestine removed (all or small part??) with collapse of a leg artery, and some other stuff. Stuff that changes a person in some way.
I know what its like to lose some intestines and need an -ostomy, been there and done that myself. SUCKS! I’d never wish this even upon a worst-enemy. Never thought I’d be saying this, but I do hope that she gets enough control of her life to maintain what she was doing. Its the only legit way to view it, IMO. Its not infrequent that Life gets in the way of a person’s dreams.
Good luck, Ma’am…honestly.
Yeah, my bad. Coffee had not absorbed enough at that time :smack:
It is good to hear her opponent suspended their campaign…there is hope yet, I guess. Making a good choice does transcend ‘party’
Agree with the best wishes for a speedy recovery to this person I do not know, and kudos for the opposing candidate doing the classy thing.
But this being Elections I will at the risk of being whatever ask -
Assume that she does not recover fully or quickly enough to campaign the whole cycle. Does the underdog Democrat just not campaign the whole cycle, as the classy thing to do?
Assume she drops out (or dies). Does someone get selected to be the new GOP standard bearer? How would that occur?
Short answer: another primary is held. If it is in time to certify the winner (including after runoff primary) two weeks before the general election, then the general election is held using the new primary winner. If not (there isn’t enough time), a special election is held after the general election, and the general election leaves the office unfilled until the special election.
