Katrina refugees attempt group extortion in Queens, NY

30 some families staying at a Raddison hotel in NYC have asked hotel management to pony up $2500 per family as an “incentive to move.” :eek: This has gotta be the ballsiest thing I’ve heard of in a while. A democratic candidate for NY attorney general has been speaking to the New York Times on behalf of the shakedown artists- er, families. In his never ending search for marginal relevance, Al Sharpton has threatened a boycott if the hotel ousts the evacuees.

Another shakedown from our favorite sleazebag Reverand Al. If I were the Radisson, I’d [del]beat him senseless with a sack of doorknobs[/del] start eviction proceedings now.

I see nothing in either of your linked articles indicating that Sharpton was involved in the incentive request or that he has any continuing relationship with the evacuees.

You’ll further note that although the picture was indeed dated 21 January 2006, that in no way precludes the dirtbag’s return if the Radisson follows through with eviction.
