Richard R. Finch, 56, was arrested Tuesday after a boy told authorities he’d had sexual contact with him at Finch’s home in Newark, the Licking County sheriff’s office said.

Finch started KC and the Sunshine Band in the 1970s with Harry “KC” Casey, who was a record company stockroom clerk when they met.

Finch has won seven Grammy Awards and 12 Grammy nominations. He owns a recording studio and production company.

Published media interviews on Finch’s Web site indicate that he has worked with several young, all-male music acts for the past few years at a home recording studio outside Newark.

Apparently that provided Finch the opportunity to get close to the teens. He’s in serious trouble now.

During an interview with detectives, Finch admitted to having sexual contact with the boy as well as several other boys ages 13 to 17, Slayman said.

Serious trouble is right – I once knew a guy who admitted to sexual contact with a teenage boy - he’s going to spend the next 130 years in prison.
