Look, I’m sorry. I’m all for this sort of “Lame Internet Meme Debunking” thing you’re doing, but the truth is, I watched John Wick and I thought he was clearly miscast because he’s way too young to play this role of former legendary killer who has been retired for a while.
Then I realized… wait, no, he’s about George Clooney’s age.
Don’t get me wrong, Reeves couldn’t play a teenager even in a CW show… but he does look unusually younger than his actual age.

On his Wiki page the picture is from 2015, and (speaking as someone 3 years older than he is) I think he looks his age.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that …

Charles Grodin was the one who amazed me. He looks his age now but you’d expect that as he’s 84. But back when Beethoven (1992) was released, he was around 57. Sure didn’t look it! He played a doctor in Rosemary’s Baby (1968). Clearly he made a pact with the Devil to slow the aging process!
Let’s try this:
Most of my life, some (somewhat clueless) people have told me I don’t talk or act black, though I am. My counter has always been that this is impossible - I’m black and I talk and behave as I do, so this is literally how a black person talks. The issue isn’t me, it’s their preconceptions. You can say I’m atypical (though, considering all the factors, I’m not) but you can’t change the facts.
Mr. Reeves is 54 and he looks like he does now, so this is what a 54-year old looks like, period. The people claiming he looks “unusually young” are just highlighting their preconceptions about what older people look like. And it’s as insulting as any other time you use a label to decide what someone should be like.
And similar to my earlier argument, you can’t really argue Reeves is atypical when you consider all the factors we know about him, like his occupation, economic status, general health, etc. Does he look like the 54 year old stocking at Wal-Mart? No. Does he look similar to Robert Downey Jr, Kyle Chandler, Ralph Macchio, Chris Rock and so on? Pretty much.
The people saying that also forget that when they were kids, anybody old enough to drink legally looked ancient.

Oh, he’s hit the age where he’s really showing his age. A few years ago, maybe right before he turned 50, the ‘Keanu is immortal’ fan thing got going, but I think it didn’t account for how babyfaced he was when he really was young.
