Did you also misremember taking the statement at face value? Did you take the statement at face value or not? If not, why not?
That’s enough of that, Andy. No more.
There is no “issue” and Ms. Clinton is not responsible for the resuscitation of the bullshit.
After claiming in 2008 to have accepted the evidence of the birth certificate, Trump went on to “doubt” the evidence on multiple occasions between 2009 and 2014. He then made it an issue, again, by mentioning it in a news/ad for his latest hotel. Pointing out that Trump has persistently promoted the obvious lie, the “doubts” that President Obama is a U.S. citizen by birth cannot be laid at the feet of Ms. Clinton with anything resembling accuracy or seriousness. The “boost in the polls” was sought by Trump.
Sorry. Should have phrased that differently.
I think that’s very insightful.
Anecdotal evidence I’ve seen supports that.
Since eye considered the issue finally closed in 2011, I believed the issue was only resurrected, at this time, by ol’ Hillary’s campaign, and her supporters in the LSM, as a desperate attempt to help ol’ Hillary’s saggy poll numbers. SSDD. yawn.
Why did you not consider it closed after the birth certificate and mountain of proof in 2008, when there was no contrary evidence?
And Hillary didn’t resurrect it – Trump continued it until this year. Trump birthered on long after 2011, proving that he never was actually interested in evidence, just in bloviating racist lies.
