Keeping it Cool

I was wondering, is there any validity to the idea that to aid in keepongyour weight down you should keep youself somewhat chilled…drink ice cold water…A/C etc. I guess the idea is that the body needs to burn calories when you are colder.

I am not advocating this as a weight loss regimen, because it certainly won’t shed the pounds. Eat right, exercise, etc. But it should at least be the right direction.

Cecil addressed this:

Can you lose weight by keeping the thermostat turned down?

But isn’t being colder slowing down your metabolism as well? One of the reasons many animals hibernate, perhaps?
