Kennedy's Rollong Stone article

I read Robert Kennedy Jr’s article in the Rolling Stone about the 2004 election and the unethical illegal proceedings in Ohio.

It is a riveting and frightening article about the willingness of those in power to subvert democracy.

One question that keeps occurring to me about this administration is why are we the general public, so very complacent about this stuff. The article asks why the media and the Democrats were so willing to let all these accusations go after the election. Is that the problem. There’s no voice to the outrage so people just let it slide?

We have a President who most Americans now believe lied to us in order to create a war. Now we don’t know what to do and our leaders seem to be to chicken shit to take a real stand.

Here’s more evidence that certain members of the Republican party subverted the democratic process in order to steal an election and take control. Why aren’t we freakin’ furious. Why aren’t we asking the media why they aren’t covering this story? Why aren’t we asking our elected officials why they aren’t taking this seriously?

So the debate is, are we too complacent and if so why? If we are too complacent then when things get worse aren’t we just getting what we deserve?

There’s a thread on this already in progress: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=374092

Then is it ok to make fun of the poor spelling in the title of this one?
