Kerry Supporters Accepting Bush

You need to rethink that. Muskets are a lot better than fists and teeth for fighting.

As a Republican Christian I would like to say this to you…

I love you.

Really.

It’s not just lip service. I guess you are gay or bi-sexual, but I don’t care. If I met you and your significant other, I would not have a problem with you coming over, having dinner with me and my kids or coming to church with me.

I am not hate filled and I am not a bigot. I don’t think you are second class. I think you and I share different views on a number of issues, but I would not choose to limit your rights or marginalize you in any way.

Before this goes much farther somebody is going to have to explain to me, in simple and direct language if you please, just what I am required to do to show this admirable solidarity with our now duly elected temporary head of the executive branch of the federal government. Once I know that I can tell you whether I’m going along with it or not.

Is there some personal oath of loyalty that is prescribed for the purpose? Must I quit being a evil trial lawyer? Should I go buy a Hummer? A semi-auto AK- 47 with a 30 round magazine, maybe? Shall I pledge my self in perpetual support of every cock-a-mammee impulse and wild hair our President relieves himself of? Should I nominate Carl Rove for the Baseball Hall of Fame? What in the Hell am I suppose to do?

That’s precisely what you chose to do if you voted for Bush, who ran a campaign that featured rampant gay baiting and gay bashing and which won on the coattails of an anti-gay amendment.

Bush voters are bigoted filth.

From Bush’s speech today:

Well, what I would say to this is simply that he is absolutely right that he has to earn our support and trust. And, I could come up with many suggestions in that regard. I hope his statement that “a new term is a new opportunity to reach out to the whole nation” means that there is going to be a wholesale change in who is in his administration and how it is run.

But, frankly, I am not holding my breath.

It’s amazing,

ever since Bush won the strangest thing happened to me when I woke up!

I hated abortion, homosexuals, Europeans, and democrats.

I had a strong desire to listen to country music and came around to the fact that there really are a lot of schools being built in Iraq.
Oh wait…

I won’t be with Bush until he does something that I like. I am actually open-minded that he may actually do that, but he hasn’t come around yet.

Hey Spectrum, I love you too.

Really.

I hope you get past the venom you are choking on now to learn to offer the tolerance you expect of others.

Gay rights did not come into my decision making process at all. I guess it is fair to say my concerns over terrorism and the tax cuts trumped my concerns over gay marriage. But that does not make me a bigot.

If you knew me, you wouldn’t feel this way about me.

What about your fellow church members ? Who cares if one of you says he is not a bigot if so many other are and voted accordingly.

So if someone was a racial eugenist, but I liked his economic policy, my latter concern would trump the former?

I think you would be pleasantly suprised by what goes on ay my ( and other) churches…beyond the glaring eyes of a media who wants to keep our image "Jimmy Swaggart"ized.

I don’t get it…

I am tolerant – I want all people to be treated equally by the government and to be free to live life as they please. Those who would deny others equality will not be treated kindly by me.

“Fuck the fags, give me money! Who cares if they die alone in hospitals without the comfort of their loved ones, give me money! What? They can be forced to testify against their life partners in court? Good! Fuck them, give me money… but I’m not a bigot.”

I’m sorry, I thought this thread was one of the ones in the pit.
