90-100g, give or take.
According to your the link I gave unless your protein catabolism(from diet) and fat production meet a minimum level of glucose production then there will be no oxaloacetic acid for the TCA cycle which means no aerobic respiration whatsoever. That’ll cause a build up of lactic acid. Acidosis is deadly. You want enough protein and fat catabolism to meet the minimum level glucose production and maintain sufficient oxaloacetic acid.
Heres a WAG, but I think it’ll work. Excess protein is waste nitrogen and is secreted in your urine as urea – a orange substance. If your piss is clear then you have no protein to waste. If your piss is darkish orange, then you’ve got plenty.
I should say thats how I interpret the link, it doesn’t specifically state my conclusions.
So… orange piss is a good thing? Huh.
I’ve never pissed orange, even when I was eating huge amounts of protein.
Anyway, the color has been normal, so I’m okay in that department.
Actually let me modify that statement a little bit. I’ve been doing a little more reading.
Dark orange means lots of protein catabolism is going on*
Clear means theres little protein to catabolise
*arginine is the main amino-acid in the urea cycle, however it is also a glucogenic amino acid. I don’t know what this means in terms of what color your piss will be.
What color is normal?
Anyway, i’m starting to really overstepping the bounds of my knowledge. I’d rather someone who was more sure of themselves step in.
