In continuing my quest for the perfect small SUV, I’m curious to hear opinions on the Kia Sportage.
Does anyone know how it compares to other small SUVs in it’s class like the Ford Escape? I’m particularly interested in awd/4wd, ability to tow small loads, and decent passenger/cargo room.
In the end, I’m looking to get a sporty looking utility vehicle that’s small enough to still get reasonable gas mileage.
We have a 2008 Sportage and love it. We’ve had no problems with it at all.
Ours has about 43,000 km on it, still on the original brakes and tires, mostly with city driving. Never had a breakdown and never had to call roadside. It starts no problem on the coldest days.
It has a nice smooth ride. We have a 4 cyl, and it’s great on gas, and still peppy. We can generally go from Ottawa to Brantford, Ontario on one tank of gas (about 550 km)
It’s very roomy, which is great because we have two Boxers. We can fold the back seats down all the way and it has lots of cargo space.
I think the tow capacity of the 2008 4 cyl is about 1500 lbs.
I’m not sure about comparisons, but I love my Sportage
