I am at a loss as to what I would do about the American captain of the Alabama held hostage by pirates. I know it’s a complex issue. My first thought is to deploy the frogmen available and just board the lifeboard when they are taking turns sleeping. Also, to cut off their communications; but, on the other hand then we won’t know what they are planning e.g. calling other pirates with ships and captives to help them. I know they are desperate and even though they don’t usually kill their captives, that could change as this is a new situation. But, on the other hand the world cannot continue to be held captive to the huge ransoms they demand. What would you do?
