At about 1:47 there is a section which is obviously meant to be a guitar solo…except it isn’t. The sound of the guitar you can just barely detect playing is muted and very low volume in relation to the other instrumental tracks.
What’s up with that? Poor mixing on the board, or am I just not appreciating what is going on at that point. To me it is almost jarring, like you are building up anticipation for the solo then someone turns the volume waaay down.
Are you listening through headphones? Have you tried listening on some different device?
I just listened hereon youtube and heard the solo same as the rest of the song.
However if the CD has the solo on one side of stereo and the rest of the music on the other side, and your headphones or device are screwed up so that only one side is playing, then you would hear it like you describe.
That was the first thing I thought about. I was listening to a CD in the car, so I thought maybe my settings and balance just didn’t work with the song. Tinkered with them…still the same. Went to youtube and listened, still the same. I mean I can hear that there is a guitar solo there, but it honestly sounds to me like a screw up as they mixed the song. It is building to this solo, then there is this big hole in the sound. Maybe its just me.
