Kid Tying Shoes...Legit?

This video seems to show a kid tying his shoe without even touching them. Is there anyway this is legit?

I can’t pull up the vid at work, but from another place that has it posted:

The tied laces are tucked into his pants, then as he shakes his foot they fall down over the top of the other ones.

Thanks to Wee Brain’s explanation…I can totally see that. Seems like the trick is:

  1. Tuck the tied laces in to your shoes or pants (notice how he’s wearing long pants and his friend is wearing shorts)
  2. Have long fake laces suspended through your pocket and down to your shoe.
  3. Shake your foot so that the tucked-in laces come free, while simultaneously pulling the untied laces up into your pants via your pocket.

For a split second you see the untied laces sort of floating in space on the left (his right) side of his pants cuff, as if they were being pulled up his pants leg.

Great trick, though.

People always complaining about kids and their baggy pants…if there were no baggy pants there’d be a lot less neat street magic!!!
