I’ve avoided playing video games in serious quantities for a long time, with the occasional snack on addictinggames.com every now and then. Although I’m not a huge fan of tower defense games, as they are essentially just real-time strategy for retards, I have become totally captivated by Kingdom Rush. The towers and enemies all feel unique and work together to create interesting scenarios, the campaign is consistently challenging without being infuriating, the visuals and audio work together to create a cohesive feel, and the interface allows high mechanical skill cap instead of a “set 'em up and hope for the best” structure.
I’m not a tower defense game fan either, and I got a fair amount of entertainment out of the “campaign” part of Kingdom Rush. I was less interested in trying to complete the challenges after that, though.
I’m looking for developers and programmers to help me with my new idea for a tower defense game, “Machine Guns vs. Children.” The player plays the machine guns. Curiously, nobody seems to want to attach themselves to the project after I explain the game concept.
My only complaint with it is that at higher levels the game becomes more dependent on spamming special items rather than any strategy of your defensive layout. It stayed fun for quite a long time though, and has been one of my favorite app games.
Almost the greatest ever, second only to Starcraft.
Just perfect in every way (except some of the Heros cost $5.99!) I’m currently working through it using only artillery on normal - can’t beat the last ice level. The addition of gems on the iPad app is welcome - particularly the extra money!
