I kept hearing this song at the gym all week, and had an idea–

the lyrics are suggestive, cute, “girls just wanna have fun” stuff but if a man–a clearly hetero male-- sang these lyrics, substituting a few pronouns, what an anthem for cheating it would be!

Sample (and you’ve got to imagine a macho, stubbly guy singing 'em)–

Mods, if I’ve quoted too much of the lyrics, could you give me a shot at cutting them back? I’ll characterize rather than quote the lyrics, if you’ll just give me an idea of the acceptable quoting length, okay? It’s hard to judge here, what with inserting the changes I suggest, how much is too much. Also if someone else doesn’t mind, could you report this post, so a Mod can get on board sooner rather than later? Thanks.

There’s a guy called Max Vernon who’s done just that - recorded a version of this song as a guy. I have no idea of his sexuality, but he keeps the line ‘hope my boyfriend don’t mind it’, which comes across as a gay man having an experience with a woman.

Reported as requested, PRR. I heard the song on a Morning Zoo format. Kind of funny, but they talked through most of the song. I haven’t seen the video yet.
