If so, maybe you can help me.
In Prevention’s Natural Healing Guide 2000, it suggests to take bromelain for back pain. It reads, “Take 500 milligrams three to four times a day after meals. Bromelain strength is standardized in… gelatin-dissolving units (gdu). Look for a product that has a strength between… 720 and 1,440 gdu.”
Today at GNC, the only bromelain pills they had contained only 100 gdu (it doesn’t say how many mg per pill). I bought it anyway in case there was a way I could make up for it (it’s refundable even after opened).
So… is there anyway I can make up for the lapse in gdu? The guy there shrugged and said maybe I could take 7 pills, but on the label, the directions say to take one to three tablets a day.
Thanks in advance if anyone helps!
Oh, yeah, and if anyone knows any place where they sell actual leaves or drops for tinctures instead of just herbal pills, could ya let me know?
Thanks much!
how about just trying a little acetylsalicylic acid? It’s related to a compound found in willow bark, but causes fewer side effects. It’s been found to be helpful in reducing many types of pain, as shown in many reputable studies, and it’s safe dosage range has been well documented. 5 to 10 grains every 6 hours is the usual dosage.
Qadgop
Qadgop–you are so bad!
LemonGrl, try here for some stronger pills. They are 500mg (3200 MCU)*
*Approx. 1.5 MCU (milk clotting units) = 1 GDU
I would recommend 2-(p-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid. It’s magic.
Everyone’s a comedian.
Hey, JillGat and Qadgop love their acid!
