Not only do I like his position I like the way he expressed it.

That response left a very good impression. Not just his position on gay marriage, but also his manner of response is quite admirable.
On a different issue, I am disappointed that both major parties are beating the anti-refugee drum, although I’ve barely been following Australian politics.
