Kodak to make pharmaceuticals

So, my take. Trump has all this hydroxycloroqine. He wants to sell it to the yokels because his family has money in it. Kodak is moribund but to the yokels it’s an AMERICAN BY GOD company & they’ll be thrilled to fight the China virus with Trump’s wonder drug. So all he wants is the name

Many, many years ago I worked a summer internship at Eastman Chemical. This was a couple years before it was spun off from Kodak. The Eastman plant did make some chemicals used in photography but there were so many more non-photography related product lines that their chemicals were a part of.

The plastic used to make many soda bottles and celluose acetate (filter tow) for cigarette filters were a couple of their product lines. Presumably the Rochester Kodak plant had a diversified product line as well.

I came here to say the same thing.

Makes total sense to me.

You be bad, so bad…:smirk:

Take a look at the stock price and trading volume. They’ve been drifting along at around 100,000 shares trading per day, last Thursday it was 80,840 shares, on Friday 74,893, then on Monday before the big announcement is released 1,645,719 shares got bought by somebody. You wonder if they knew something? Nah, couldn’t be; that would be insider trading and an SEC violation. Probably just a coincidence.

I don’t see why everyone’s being so negative.

It’s all there in black and white.

I don’t see why you give an f - just stop it!

We get the picture.

Are you having a moment?

The SEC routinely investigates unusual trading activity across all stocks. Their systems kick-out unusual patterns and then those individual trades get investigated. It is common place. It is very difficult for people to get away with insider trading on a grand scale these days.

not to nitpick…

“I don’t see why you give a F*, stop it” would have been better.

I was surprised Kodak still existed too. “Westinghouse” is another zombie corp. Various spin offs, i think there is a Westinghouse related nuclear power company. But if you buy a Westinghouse TV its probably just someone slapping the label on the product.

Pull the other one, it’s got bells on it. Investing in individual stocks as a retail investor is like playing poker with a person who’s got a deck of marked cards, but don’t worry, they’ve promised not to look at them.
