Come one, come all. See the massed ranks of utter knobheads spout their hilarious nonsense.
Over here, observe Millen88 and Franklin Philly struggle fail to grasp the basics of anthropology, and witness their irrational phobia of higher levels of melanin in the epidermis! “Open your mind”, they implore us, and promptly let their brains fall out.
An old favourite, but always draws the cords! It’s lekatt and his devotion to cold-reading charlatans! Why can’t they just tell us the dead’s full names, for Ken’s sake? Who cares!
New in at no. 3, we have ephraim and his End Times. Watch out old Yasser doesn’t kark it soon though, or he’ll have to ask himself some real tough questions about whether God lied to him, whether he can tell God from Satan, or whether he is simply a few tubes short of a functioning renal dialysis unit.
And Lo, the Earth is 6000 years old and I will simply ignore evidence to the contrary, says Lynn73 and others. I imagine that the world maps in their houses have the coasts of Africa and South America redrawn so as not to fit together so neatly.
America asks: “Why do they laugh at us so?”
If all the ignorance was abolished, Cecil would be out of a job. We don’t want that, right?
Maybe one day, one of those people will finally get it and come back here and admit they were wrong in so many ways. It does happen now and then.
Doesn’t it? Please say yes.
It’s a beautiful, gorgeous, wonderful, spring-like day here in Colorado. 60-odd degrees, sunny, cloudless sky. I can look over my monitor and see the snow-capped mountains majesty from where I sit on the fruited plain. And I’ve got a date tonight.

Well, remember that Lynn73 is the former His4Ever, so her beliefs are well-known to not make sense. She thinks Jack Chick has the right of it, after all. (Unless she’s finally seen the light, in which case I withdraw that remark and apologize for it.)
When life gives you lemons, pick that sucker up and peg it right the fuck back at life’s head. What a big fucking rip-off, giving me lemons in the first place. Life ought to be ashamed!
I can’t speak for the rest of the SDMB but I have been found wanting in the brain department a few times since I signed up for a whaling thread, and I’m not afraid to admit when I’m wrong.
So… at least the SDMB has educated this ignorant mass, and will most probably keep on doing so.
From the OP:
Are you referring to the Plate Tectonic theory?
As far as I know that’s still just a theory - I think continental drift is still just a theory, too.
Actually, Ephraim’s thread has been running for a few weeks now. I should probably swear off it since his arguments are entirely too easy to take shots at, but so far I’ve enjoyed giving in to temptation.
The young earth creationist thread has also been going on for over a week, and, again, it’s one with lots of easy targets to shoot at.
Personally, I don’t mind a few soft targets in GD, although the White Nationalist crowd do make me nervous.
I can’t say I agree with that fact - that is, the fact that theories stand until proven wrong - but I’m no scientist and I’ll trust those learned men, for the time being at least.
I’ve always been under the impression that a theory is just that - a theoretical (Given to theorizing; speculative) statement that needs to be proven to become a law. I stand corrected.
I would like to call this a misunderstanding rather than ignorance, but thanks for your kind words, Epimetheus.
For the record, I do think the Plate Tectonics and Continental Drift theories are right - after all I’m just a half hour drive from the North Atlantic rift (where the North-American and Eurasian continents meet) in the Almannagja ravine that widens by around 2 cm per annum. I just thought it wasn’t fair to criticise people for not believing something that hasn’t been proven.
