First sheep, then cats, and now dogs have been cloned.
I know you can’t bring back a pet from the dead, but if you had a particularly intelligent, healthy dog, would you rather have that dog’s twin as your new pet or take a chance on an unknown?

It would be tempting to clone a really good dog.
I wouldn’t think of it as my old dog, but as its pup.
I had a wonderful cute dog named Merlin. She was sweet and loved kids. She was from the humane society and a thorough mutt. She was killed by a car when only 3.
I failed in protecting her from herself. I had a large fenced corral but she dug out and visited the neighbor’s dog across the street.
The driver of course sped up and sped away.
If cloning her was an option and under $1000 I would have given it serious thought.
