Koreans snipping their frenulums?

frenum, frenulum, what’s the difference?

And if anyone’s still interested, I found the original letter online. It’s the bottom letter on the page.

So, we have here a Welshman (or possibly Irishman) living in Holland, writing to the Japan Times to criticise Korean practices and promote Esperanto…?

Truly, we live in the age of global communication…

i;m korean… born and raised in canada…
i speak with no asian accent at all…

i just have to say…
if you see 5 orange haired asians all dressed the same and walking and talking the same… they are korean…

koreans believe anything… if an actor in korea grows his hair… all the guys will grow their hair… the thing is… the actor follows some fad in japan… or europe… or US… no mind of their own… none…

but koreans born in canada, us or other than korea…who can’t speak korean…
we are looked upon as losers, idiots… not korean… we are rejected by FOBs and their parents alike…

we are not korean… we are a different breed…

sorry about the venting…

My daughter had trouble breastfeeding and a lactation consultant from La Leche (breastfeeding terrorists) said she was tongue-tied and should have her frenulum cut. The pediatrician said this was total bullshit (not his words). She never did pick up on breastfeeding but there are lots of reasons besides this. But some children apparently do have it cut.

I had mine snipped when I was about eight years old. I was in speech therapy because I had trouble with Rs and Ls and the treatment was suggested to my mother. I don’t recall it hurting more than a day or two.
I know I say my Rs and Ls just fine now. Don’t know if it was due to the snipping (they said it was too short but I had forgotten what IT was until now).
I’m not Korean though, so I guess my post is pointless. As usual
Happy to have shared though!

Heavy sigh

Don’t worry, she’s having none of it… she just came over today to sleep because she was up all last night watching soap operas. When she wakes up, I’ll ask her if she’s heard about this, and if she knows how frequently it is done.

Oops… my typing brought her back to consciousness for a second… long enough to say that she had heard of it, and that only a few people actually do this!

Weird! I thought I had heard everything…

I’ve heardabout this off and on for several years. Most recently from here: http://www.iht.com/articles/53890.htm The article does name names, lending it credence …
