Kosher Viagra for Passover!

I just heard that kosher viagra is now available for Passover. I am not Jewish and I have some questions.[ol][]When you go to place the viagra in the kosher capsule, won’t your hands touching the viagra and then touching the outside of the capsule make the outside of the capsule non-kosher?[]Once the capsule disolves and the viagra emerges, the viagra will be in contact with the body. So won’t that be a violation of the law that says non-kosher items cannot come in contact with the body?[/ol]

They plan ahead. Hametz (stuff that can’t be made kosher for Passover) is only off-limits during Passover, so they’re free to pop as many pills as they want into the Kosherizing capsules ahead of time.

What is the point of Kosher Viagra - you still can’t have any pork.

Two points though:[ol][]According to this article, you are not allowed to even own hametz during Pesah. So placing it in kosherizing capsules still has you possessing it.[]How can you place it in the kosherizing capsules without contaminating the capsules. For instance, you couldn’t put pork or levened bread in the kosherizing capsules and still consume them, could you?[/ol]

Mercy! Being a Jew sure sounds tricky. ;j

More importantly, I read here on the SDMB that Coca Cola brews Kosher Coca Cola Classic for Passover, and it contains sugar instead of corn syrup. I think I’m gonna get me some of that.

I don’t pretend to understand them all, but there have been a lot of creative work-arounds for Passover.

Even stoves have been updated with random start timers - it’s apparently not allowed to directly turn on a stove or oven, but it’s perfectly fine to press the random start button and have the stove turn on shortly thereafter. Likewise, it’s also OK to have a Gentile neighbor come over to turn things on.

I think the actual significance and observence of all of this has been a bit diluted over the years.
