I just bought a Krasnogorsk K-3 from ebay! And I got it at a rediculously cheap price!! I rule! Spike Lee, eat your heart out, baby.

Pretty!
Weird name, though. Looks like the sound someone would make while coughing and sneezing simultaneously.
Have you tried it yet? Last time I used mine, the film came back all jumpy. I haven’t gotten around to trying a different stock (I was using Ilford fine-pitch before).
I prefer my Eclair NPR, but it’s a heavy sucker.
Da, darling.
Anyone wanna make a movie?
Nope, just closed the transaction, waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I’ve read that K-3’s are supposed to produce a VERY stable image, maybe yours needs a tune-up? The only other 16mm camera I’ve used is a little Bolex. It works pretty well, but the K-3 is just so damn cool!
Here’s something I got from the K-3 e-group apparently I’m not the only one with the problem):
Since other film has passed through this camera okay, I’ll try some Fuji stock when I get around to it.
I agree with you. It’s a fun little camera. The optics are great (but watch out for flares!) and I like the reflex viewfinder, which my Bolex didn’t have. The Bolex is a much easier camera to wind, however.
The original Russian case is absolute crap. I went to Ritz Camera and bought a hard case. It took a little arranging and I’d like to have more room, but it’s much better than the leather case it came with.
There are synch motors available but there are two problems: Once the motor is on, there’s no going back to the spring-wind; and even though the camera will be crystal-controlled, it will be way too noisy to shoot dialog with.
Enjoy!
The best thing about them is that you get an instruction book entirely in Russian (I think there is a translation as well).
One of the cameras selling points is that it was used to make a Spin Doctors video? Yikes.
There is a manual in English on the site friedo linked. The .pdf version is much better than the .html version.
