The documentary Kumare was released on DVD and on Netflix Instant this week. We stumbled upon it while surfing Netflix, trying to fill in a gap between Deadwood discs. I found it interesting, touching, funny, and about the best damn documentary I’ve ever seen. I’ve changed my Religion profile section on Facebook to Kumare.

I tried to watch it, but I found it too depressing that this guy, good intentions or not, was knowingly sucking in victims to a bullshit … cult (I can’t think of another word for it). Interesting, like watching people with mental illness is interesting.
