I am getting such a KICK out of reading this thread.

I grew up in San Bernardino. The whole damn place is my old stomping grounds. Considering I’ve never moved farther away from the North end than Yucaipa, I guess it still is!

As usual, silenus is pretty spot on…there’s a few things mentioned in here that aren’t QUITE 100% true, but close enough. You’re getting some decent advice. Just like any city, there’s the occasional shithole mixed in with some nice niches, so San Bernardino isn’t ALL bad. It’s the bad places that are getting all the publicity lately, though. When Norton AFB closed down some years ago, the suburbs it supported went to hell. Same thing with Moreno Valley, although their problem is that they expanded too quickly.

You sound like a Redlands guy to me. The Falconer seems to fit my mental picture of you, and you could conceivably walk home from there unimpeded after a good bender. Hell, if the Falconer ain’t your speed, there’s the Flamingo just a couple of blocks up the street, and if seedy is what you want, that’s your soup.

Otherwise, you could move up here by a few of us and do what we do. We either learn to drink at eachother’s houses, or we drive to where there’s something good to do! Come on. One of us! One of us! Especially if you’re a Broncos fan.
