In this column the all knowing Cecil seems to not want to refer to this article, which seems to indicate the presence of male lactating bats. It isn’t clear from the article - although one could infer this - that they actually suckle young. What gives?
Actually, the article goes out of its way not to draw that conclusion. Beyond that, may I point out that the article is dated 1994, while Cecil’s column is dated 1984.
