Ladies and Gentlemen, I admit it: I like beer.

Rolling Rock really is a nice little beer, isn’t it? I must say, I’m not much of an aficionado - I pretty much drink what’s in the refrigerator, but I prefer the mid-level (i.e., not Miller Lite) beers. And I hadn’t heard about the sugar content, but Corona usually gives me a stomachache for some reason.

I also like boobies.

So what if the thread’s about beer? Sure I like beer, but I’ll take boobies any day of the week.

(Yeah, I like beer. Molson Canadian!)

I am reminded of the chant the football team used to have on Fridays (Saturday we played):

BEER AND PUSSY!

[sub]Thought that applied, is all . . . [/sub]

I thank you that you think I am deeper than this. And yes, I do also enjoy a variety of other liquors. However, my point was more that I was accosted today, and I needed to vent and show some support for the fellow oppressed (but I don’t see any oppressed here).

So, yeah, this may not have been the smartest thing to fly out of my yap, but I wanted to show a little support. We all have our dumber days

Tripler
I like boobies too.

I have always been partial to Yuengling Lager, myself.

Best beer in the state of Pennsylvania, I must say.

I can’t say that I just like beer. I love the stuff. Yes, I dally in wine and harder beverages, but beer is the elixer. Stouts, Porters, Scotch Ale, ESB, IPA, heck, just keep them coming. Sam Adams on a regular day, Mackesson XXX Stout to wind down a great evening.

Everything but the traditional American Lager (aka Coors/Bud/etc). I too am a home brewer, which has pretty much ruined me on many of the aformentioned commercial beers.

Of course to be fair, I have never seen a homebrew babe in a swimsuit (not like the Bud girls), which ties into the boobie endorsement above. BTW, May 5, National Homebrew Day, and the day of The Big Brew. Check it out at http://www.beertown.org

Lastly, whenever I hear someone doesn’t like beer, I am both sympathetic and gleeful (more for the rest of us!)

I like bubbly beer. In cans, bottles, glasses or plastic cups fresh from the tap. Yellow beer must be cold. Brown beer slightly cool. Black beer must be warm. I’m a homebrewer also, but as long as the Rolling Rock or Busch is ice cold, I’ll chug it. Except Miller stuff… that’s not beer.

Well, no-one else has asked, and someone has to. I’ll whisper though… [sub]how do you know[/sub]

Well, heck.

I got so caught up in making the whole “boobies” observation that I neglected to post my beer preferences. Tho’ I guess one could be excused for being distracted.

'sides, I know y’all’d rather learn what beers I prefer instead of discussing the merits of an attractive set of bosoms.

Negra Modelo I find has a great taste without the heaviness that other dark beers can have.

Rhino Chasers is a great tasting ale when I can find it.

Newcastle or Killians when it’s on draft in a restaurant/bar.

Mmmmm. Beeeeeer.

In my younger days I would drink anything that dared to call itself beer. Hamms? I bought it buy the case in college. Miester Brau? Just try and keep me away from 25 cent taps at Rubber Workers. Old Milwaukee? I’ll have another!

But I’ve become a beer snob as I’ve gotten older and I make no apologies for it. I don’t think I could choke down a Miller or Bud these days. But give me a Sprecher Special Amber or Oktoberfest fresh from the tap and I can die happy.

Mmm. Beer. Yes, please!

I’ve been known to make my own, plus cider and mead as well. Yum. And yes, if you don’t like beer, then you just haven’t looked far and wide enough for the right one. There are beers that don’t taste like traditional beer at all, like the Belgian lambics. There’s truly nothing to compare to them.

My faves? Almost too many to count, but here’s a small list:

  • Almost anything Belgian (the lambics, the white beers, Rodenbach Grand Cru, trappist ales, you name it). I too was devastated when the Celis brewery in TX was sold and they stopped making Celis White.
  • Newcastle Brown Ale on tap - damn, what a fine beer.
  • Bass
  • Guinness
  • Brooklyn Lager

And, even though this is a beer thread, I have to mention that Ace Pear Cider is ambrosia. I think God Himself makes it.
