ladies restrooms

Do girls wish they had urinals, to save all that tedious queueing in restrooms? I can’t help thinking that it would be a logical step forwards, and make it easier to catch their men trying to pull someone else.

IMHO, this thread should have been started in IMHO.

Teflon, welcome aboard. This forum is for questions with factual answers. IMHO is the place for polling/opinions on these sorts of things (Gread Debates is for opinions on items of cosmic importance).

They already exist!

No. It would not make things any quicker or more efficient. Ladies would still have to partially disrobe unless they’ve got one of those “stand-n-pee” gadgets. Especially if wearing pantyhose it would just be, well, awkward.

seosamh’s link is the 3rd or 4th one of these that I’ve seen. Curiously, all of them claimed to be the “world’s first” female urinal. The one in Baltimore was called the “she-inal” and was part of the “big flush.” They flushed all of the toilets at once before the stadium opened to make sure that the system could handle it, got some rather humorous press though.

Always these are touted as the next greatest thing since sliced bread, and are going to prevent all of the long lines at the stadiums, blah blah blah. I’ve never heard how well they actually do in practice though. Anyone know?

They’ve been available for years, and so far have only showed up in stadiums and places where large crowds and long lines exist, so I think there’s your answer. Women don’t want them for normal use, but they do want them when the only alternative is waiting and waiting and waiting in line or sneaking into the mens room.

Well I’m a woman who feels no need to master the standing pee, thanks.

I’ve also never worried that my man might be so bothered by waiting for me that he latches on to the next available female like a dog looking for something to hump. :dubious:

Hey, I’m all for peeing standing up, but I think I prefer the sit-down model in public washrooms. I like the stall, I like the moment of (relative) peace and quiet, I often appreciate sitting down. These are things that take the time.

There are other reasons women take more time than men: they fix their make-up, one week out of four they deal with other hygeine issues (which would be most awkward with a urinal), they talk to their friends, etc.

(Remember that ladies’ rooms are usually in much better condition than mens’. From what I’ve seen and heard, I’d want to finish up my business and get out of there ASAP, most of the time.)

I disagree. Having cleaned both, and having compared notes with others who have done likewise, I can confidently report that ladies’ rooms are consistently dirtier than the mens’ ( the occasional occurance of male “tomcat smell” being the exception).

Not being judgemental here, just reporting my experience. Men get in and out quickly. Women spend more time in there, and they do more interesting and varied things, so a ladies’ room will see a relarively greater amount of use. Oh yes, and ladies’ erm… aim isn’t always so flash. The main problem though is plain ol’ litter. All those feminine hygeine products have copious amounts of packaging, women use more toilet tissue and paper towel, and there are make-up containers etc.

I definitely would rather clean the mens’ toilets.

I’m posting this from Shanghai.

Trust me, there are women urinals. Actually, today I peed in a trough in the floor that went under all of the stalls.

I prefer the western style, sit down type.
