Ladies: Would you shave your head for a million dollars?

I would totally shave a Klondike bar.

Huh, interesting. I’m more likely to see the status/reputation cost in answering “no.” To me, that person appears dishonest or incredibly vain. I could see your point if the amount was much lower or if it was something like would you kill someone for a million dollars. But something as mundane as shaving your head, when you could buy the best wig and be good as new with a tiny fraction of the money…color me skeptical.

I wouldn’t do it for $500, but I would for a million. I’ve been thinking about this question for a couple of days - what’s my minimum? My hair is about halfway down my back, and one of the few girlie things on which I spend money.

I think I would probably do it for $25,000, but not much less than that.

At this point I’d do it for 1000.

When July’s temps hit, I’d probably do it for free.

The only thing I have going for me looks wise is my hair. It’s taken a couple of decades of loving care to get it to where it is now… I don’t know what my threshold is money wise for shaving it all off, but the subject would be open for discussion were real money offered, which is a moot point because nobody is going to pay me to fuck m’self up like that.

I’ve given lots of thought to other scenarios, though. I already have a plan to shave it all off and donate it were I to come down with cancer.

In a minute. I’d do it for much less, too.

I have a follow-up question for those people (in the OP, since no one in this thread is dumb enough to get sucked into this  ) who say they wouldn’t do it. If you had cancer, would you undergo chemotherapy knowing that you would lose your hair?

If they say yes, that means they value their hair somewhere between $1,000,000 and their life.

Just to keep things rolling, up the offer to $2 million, then $3 million and so on. At some point they’ll say yes, at that point they’ve essentially put the same value on a head of hair as they have on their life.

Bah. The hell with that, I’d just walk around bald. (Besides, aren’t wigs super itchy anyway?)

Actually I might wear a headscarf, if just because it’s super air-conditioned at work and I’d get cold, but I’d rather do that than get a wig.

As for the swastika question, I wouldn’t do it if I had to display it publicly. One million dollars means very little when you’ve been killed by an angry mob before you get to spend it.

If I could hide it under, well, a headscarf, then I’d consider it.

These peoplewill pay you (if you’re female) to shave your head. I don’t know how much they pay but I imagine it depends on your appearance and the length of your hair. I think they are located near Chicago.

Okay, I’m confused. Is this a Rule 34 thing? Are there people subscribing to this site because they’re sexually aroused by watching women have their hair cut off?

But hubbie didn’t get his watch back.:frowning:

Hell yes. My hair grows pretty fast. I would shave my head, quit my job and life quite happily the rest of my life.

The Leukemia Foundation in Australia organises the World’s Greatest Shave every year, where people get sponsors for shaving (or colouring, for kids) their hair. More men shave their heads than women, of course, but some women do it too. One year, a woman at my kids’ primary school raised $14,000 by shaving her head.

Hell yeah. I’ve done it for free. (Well, free for me - it was fundraising for the Leukaemia Foundation)

Well, I think I’m up to 13 years without even a trim, and my hair’s almost long enough to sit on…

Maybe £1000 minimum to shave it off, whatever that is in dollars. I’d almost certainly never get it back like it is if I started changing it- it’d just take too damn long, but I am quite poor.

But hey, it’d mean always getting a seat on the bus for a while…

I forgot to report back. For a million? " . . . Is that before or after taxes?" When I answered unspecified, probably before, after a long hesitation she said she would. $500? Instant “No.”

I saw a Muslim woman with a cool headscarf at Costco yesterday. It had rhinestones along the edge. I bet it cost less than a million bucks, too.

Hell yes! I’d do it for a lot less.

I once had a terrible miscommunication with a Supercuts gal that resulted in a shaved head, hell, I paid for that haircut.

Since I’ve shave my head for charity (St. Baldrick’s Foundation), I’d have no problems being paid to be bald.

In a micro-second.

Plus, my hair grows super-fast. In a couple of months you’d never know I’d been bald.
