They do no such thing. Your contention is that childhood sexual abuse is the cause of nearly 100% of cases of pedophilia. The cites by mhendo do identify childhood sexual abuse as a primary risk factor, but do not claim it to be a root cause. The underlying cause, in fact, was specifically stated to be unknown.

I think causation is a reasonable inference when no other variable seems to be so consistent.
And that’s where your error is. 'Tis a basic tenet of science that correlation != causation. It may be, as you say, a reasonable inference but you can not assert it as proven fact, as you have done.
May I ask, did any of the cites even confirm the “nearly 100% correlation?” They looked to me as if they only found a sort of “most popular risk factor” correlation.
His writing it off as an overly dry joke rings untrue to me, especially considering all his posts in between. I read it as Athena let him off the hook, and he jumped at the chance to put his overly emotional, reactionary hyperbole behind him. Perhaps he would be kind enough to do so again in this thread. If someone would just come along and post that they got a good laugh out of his posts here, maybe he would reply that he was glad somebody finally got the joke.
