Visiting Chicago this week and speaking with my brother, we were speaking of the lakefront. W/regard to the many piers, he mentioned the cables, about 3-4’ off the deck, that run down the middle for the length of the pier. He said these were installed as “seiche lines.” Sounds logical, but in all my years I’d never heard this. Can anyone confirm?
