The problem is Rangel is more wealthy than you are.

Remember when McCain didn’t know how many houses he owned? He did that because he’s so fucking rich he has every finger and toe in pies across the country. Rangel isn’t as rich as McCain, but he also is wealthy with a lot of investments. I can certainly see overlooking something when you have a morass of things to report.

You don’t think the number of houses you own is one of those things that sticks with you? That’s not asking how many are rental properties or which still have mortgages on them (in McCain’s case I’m guessing they were purchased outright).

Sorry…I wasn’t defending McCain so much as suggesting that answering a question wrong is different than filing your taxes incorrectly for 17 years.

Even if you think that McCain tried to lie about it in hopes that no one would ever find out… that is still different from filing your taxes wrong for 17 years.
