I’m pretty sure that “The Big Red Cheese” was Dr. Silvana’s sarcastic nickname for Captain Marvel. Sort of like how the Joker called Batman “The Caped Dunderhead”
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” was usually self-applied. I always thought it was a great example of Spidey’s sense of humor.
It’s not a nickname, but Matter-Eater Lad is both a stupid name and power. To paraphrase Homer Simpson, no offense, but when they were handing out superpowers, he musta been takin’ a whiz.
Guy Gardner was known to call Captain Marvel “Captain Crybaby”. I think. Or was it “Wonder Bread”?
My own superhero creation, Captain Apple (a local fellow, in this orchard-dominated community), could also be called Homme de Pomme… naaaaaaaaah. Well, that actually would have fit with the spirit of the character.
