I really don’t want a debate about whether ‘Bigger is better’ and all that. I know that not all women share the opinion, but sizable parts are often seen as attractive even if the actual performance doesn’t live up to the hype. What I want to know is as follows:
Is there any evolutionary reason for such a preference? In general, men prefer an ‘hourglass’ shape because wide hips and big breasts are signs that the female will bear and nurse children well. Is there any evidence that a man with a large penis is more fertile, or in some way healthier?
If the reason for the preference isn’t evolutionary, is it still inborn, through accident of biology? Or is it an entirely cultural concept?
