I think it would be great if the Pacers brought back the short short of Bird’s era as a tribute to him. I think the baggy shorts they wear these day can’t be optimal equipment for playing, and I’m sure there are admirers of the male anatomy out there who would be pleased to have a “better look” at the NBA players.
What’s the downside? Self-conscious guys who are embarrassed about their butts? Some kind of NBA rule on uniformity of uniforms? I hope not.
If the short shorts ever came back strong, the WNBA might get more attention too. Of course, that’s not the attention they were hoping for.
Again I say. why not? Women are wearing short shorts again, why not men? Any gay men reading this? What do you think? (I’m admittedly thinking in stereotype here – hoping for gay men who are both style conscious and interested in checking out the male bodies of the NBA.)
