After two blissful years of living together, MrWhatsit and I finally tied the knot in Sin City. It was fabulous, although there were no Elvis impersonators or Klingons involved. I would recommend it to anyone.
Little Chapel of the Flowers. (www.littlechapel.com) It was really great. The chapel was beautiful, and the minister did a great job. I did not feel like I was having a “tacky Vegas wedding” at all. Also, they have a live webcast if you want, so that all your friends around the world can watch the wedding even if they can’t be there in person.
Anniz and I will be doing the Vegas wedding thing ourselves in 3.5 weeks, on 23 September. We’re going for the tacky Elvis wedding (seriously, is there another way to get married in Vegas?) at the Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel, and yes, it will be webcasted, too.
I’m not kidding about this: You could get married at the “Say ‘I Do’ Love Drive-Thru” chapel. It is just north of the strip. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it.
clayton_e, FYI, prostitution is not legal in Las Vegas. Depending on the county’s population, it may or may not be legal.
Zumba, my husband and I were married at the chapel in the Excalibur, and in lieu of a reception, we took everyone to the King Arthur’s Jousting Dinner (or whatever it’s called!) It’s a lovely chapel and you have the option of renting medieval garb for the ceremony.
Zumba, Mrs Stoner and I were married in Vegas also. I dont remember the name of the chapel, buts it’s directly across from Circus,Circus. Whoopie Goldberg was married in the same chapel( they had her picture on the wall). The only thing I did’nt like about it was the ride in the cheesy Mercury limousine to and from the chapel. That and the fact that the limo driver kept hinting that he would’nt come back and pick us up unless we tipped him 40.00 dollars .
