Las Vegas Poker rooms

I’m planing a trip to vegas, but I’m not sure where to get the hotel. I want to be either relatively close to the best poker rooms, or on the busline to get there. I usually stay downtown and bus to the strip, but if the best poker rooms are on the strip, I might as well stay near there.

My criteria, in other of preference:

  1. Has plenty of $1/2 tables.
  2. Rake is capped.
  3. Plenty of drunk fish.
  4. Has a self-service soft drink area.
  5. Good comps, at least $1/hour of play.
  6. Relatively safe, well-lit area.

In the research I’ve done so far, it looks like the Venetian has the most active tables, but I can’t find much info on rake or comps.

#5 is probably going to be the sticking point, especially on the Strip. Most places don’t give comps to poker players much at all.
