Laser dental fillings

Anybody have any experience with this?

A month ago, I broke off a tooth that was mostly filling, and thought Id have to have it pulled. My dentist (in Cebu, Philippines) said he thought he could restore it, with a new laser technique. It took him about a half hour to build a new tooth onto the old stub, no anaesthetic, no discomfort. He said it would normally require a light painkiller, but that particular tooth was already nerve-dead. The laser does not generate the heat that is the source of drill pain. I was advised not to expect miracles, the root of the tooth could still develop infection and have to be pulled.

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with the outcome so far, compared to the alternate scenarios my imagination catalogued. And with the price: $30, at a walk-in store-front clinic.
