Lasik surgery question

I was watching the movie Don’t Breathe and the character in the house is a veteran that is blind from grenade shrapnel. The main characters breaks into his house to steal his fortune that’s in a safe. If I can look past the first plot hole of why he’s living in a deteriorating Detroit neighborhood with all that money, the main question is could he have Lasik surgery to fix an injury like that? I don’t know how advanced the surgery really is and what could possibly be done.

I don’t know why I posted this, since he’s completely blind I doubt anything could be done.

You’re right: Lasik is generally to fix refractive errors, not eye injuries. Nothing could be done for the kind of trauma you describe.

Unrelated, but it sounds similar to the premise of Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn. She’s blind and knows she’s going to get robbed She uses the fact that she can navigate her apartment in the dark to her advantage.
