Well, just when we thought we know what was going on… a total and complete curveball. I’m loving this show. It makes me legitimately laugh, and it ALSO makes me legitimately really wonder what’s going to happen next… an unusual combination.

The previews for next week look hilarious, as newly married Phil is being severely tempted by the re-introduction of adultery to the new world ;).
Of course that would actually be better for the human race - get a little more genetic diversity (still not enough but hey it is a comedy)

I’m not so much on adultery, but in this case… “But honey! It’s for the fate of HUMANITY! Isn’t that why we got married in the first place? As President of The United States, I hereby make polygamy legal… and adultery… and driving through stop signs.”
I laughed out loud. Actually hurt I laughed so hard. The wife said, “I knew that was coming”. She is not amused.
Okay. Now it’s getting really interesting. I still wonder how long they’re going to be able to sustain this. I would think that the writers have some kind of general plan for more than a few episodes.
Will they keep introducing more women? Maybe another guy that the women will fight over? Maybe the two women will decide they like each other more than they like Phil?
I think they’ll probably end up making some kind of polygamous accommodation and then it will focus on survival and repopulating the earth.
I could see more hot women showing up and then a hot guy shows up.
That will ruin the series. The title says it all.

I can see them introducing some stud for an episode or two, only to die in some horrible, shockingly funny way.

Not an insulting cliche, just a regular guy. Phil of course is not the least bit interested; maybe even a bit homophobic.
And of course they all feel that the guy is obligated to contribute to the gene pool.

Maybe one or two more women show up. Then it’s discovered, maybe through shortwave or maybe by visitors, that the strain of virus in the Americas was somewhat different from elsewhere, killing off everyone except Phil and a few women, but in much of the rest of the world it was 100% fatal in males, but spared large numbers of women, and now they all want Phil.
Armed troop arrive from Europe or Asia and take him into custody in order to breed. At first he thinks he’s living every man’s dream…

The beautiful people show up and the two main characters find they’re perfect for each other, and the beautiful people all screw up and die. Or something.
Exactly. He thinks he’s going to be screwing hot Asian chicks every day, instead they inject him with drugs to increase sperm production and hook him up to a machine.
It’s been done, more or less.
Or maybe he and his wife or wives realize this is happening and go on the run, trying to hide from the rest of the world.

Or they find out (through shortwave or whatever) that the rest of the world wasn’t hit as hard as the Americas but it doesn’t realize that there are survivors here.
Every week they have an opportunity to be rescued (taken to Europe) but [del]Gilligan[/del] Phil messes it up somehow.
